Job Description
Key Objective:
As a Professional Lines Underwriter, you’ll operate at the heart of our underwriting platform. Using smart tech, strategic insight, and technical precision to optimize risk decisions and deliver winning broker outcomes. This isn’t manual mode underwriting!
Key Accountabilities:
- Underwrite new and renewal Professional Lines business within delegated authority
- Assess and price risks using internal and external data sources
- Prepare underwriting instructions for renewals, endorsements, cancellations, and new business with speed and accuracy
- Build and maintain strong broker relationships that drive business growth and mutual success
- Negotiate coverage, pricing, and terms with brokers
- Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines, authority limits, and governance standards—our tech stack helps you stay on track
- Balance disciplined underwriting with creative agility; use your authority to tackle complex risks in innovative ways
- Jump into special initiatives and curveballs when they appear—your adaptability helps the whole team level up

Job Qualifications
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of Professional Lines underwriting or brokering experience
- Strong technical knowledge of Professional Lines products including E&O, D&O, Cyber, Tech E&O, A&E, and Miscellaneous Professional Liability
- MGA experience is considered an asset
- CAIB, CIP, FCIP, or active progression toward industry credentials
- Excellent professional written and verbal communication skills, with strong customer service instincts
- Inclusive, transparent, and collaborative, with the resilience to thrive in fast-paced environments
- General Insurance License in good standing (or the ability to obtain one within 60 days)
Salary Range: CAD $65,000-$110,000
