Job Description
Key Objective:
As our Junior Commercial Lines Underwriter, you’ll be at the center of our underwriting operations. Using smart tech to enhance and grow your technical expertise. This is where your insurance career accelerates, this isn’t your typical entry-level underwriting role – it’s next level!
Key Accountabilities:
- Underwrite commercial risks within your delegated authority based on your experience level
- Be the frontline for broker support; build strong relationships by delivering fast, accurate, helpful responses that keep business moving
- Prepare underwriting instructions for renewals, endorsements, cancellations, and new business with speed and precision
- Master our commercial insurance platform and underwriting systems to become a go-to resource for operational excellence

Job Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in the insurance industry
- Strong professional communication skills, both written and verbal, with excellent customer service instincts
- Strong computer skills with high proficiency in MS Office; fast, accurate work is critical
- Inclusive, transparent, and collaborative mindset with the resilience to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to adapt positively when priorities shift
- Successful completion of a criminal record check
- General Insurance License in good standing (or the ability to obtain one within 60 days)
Bonus XP if you have:
- Prior underwriting experience or broker experience in commercial lines
- CAIB, CIP, or active progression toward other relevant industry designations
Salary Range: CAD $55,000-$85,000
